Raised in Queens, New York, himself, Mit Shah, MD, is a dedicated and skilled gastroenterologist who enjoys helping local patients with their unique gastrointestinal concerns at The Gastroenterology Practice. Dr. Shah took part in a residency program for internal medicine at Nassau University Medical Center, and became a chief resident during his time there. He joined a fellowship for gastroenterology and hepatology there as well.

Dr. Shah is an active member of several professional associations, including gastroenterology organizations such as the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), and New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (NYSGE).

In addition, he enjoys holding membership in the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) and the American College of Physicians (ACP). Dr. Shah is a board-certified physician in gastroenterology, and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). During his free time, Dr. Shah enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, and traveling.
